You will learn and practise how to:
- Identify the high-risk assertions to address in a procedure and provide strong explanation using case facts (if you don’t remember income-statement or balance-sheet assertions, not to worry — we’ve got you!)
- Write audit/review procedures in sufficient depth (even if you don’t have extensive audit experience)
- Build a comprehensive and consistent discussion linking audit/review procedures to the appropriate assertions and accounting issues (consistency, consistency, consistency! C stands for consistency)
- Identify and rank control weaknesses based on the business environment and client’s needs (listening to your client’s needs is critical in real life and exam life!)
- Discuss control weaknesses using case facts in the most efficient way and provide recommendations (without spinning your wheels)
- Provide a strong discussion explaining differences between a review and an audit while addressing user needs and requirements (great opportunity to add value for your client!)
- Apply practical time-management techniques to complete your final exam case on time while addressing all key issues (and that’s all you really need to do to achieve great exam results)
Outside of the workshop, we will give you one multi-competency case, mark it and provide feedback. This will give you the opportunity to put into practice what you learned in the workshop.
